CASV circumferential borehole imaging logging tool

It is an ultrasonic instrument, can be applied to barefoot and cased wells, providing high-resolution imaging graphics. When the instrument is working in the openhole mode, scan 40 circles per foot,  sampling 200 points each circle ; working in cased hole mode,  scan four circle every foot , sampling 100 points each circle. Bottom of the instrument is equipped with a rotary head, fitted with a high-frequency sound waves interchangeable transducers; And scanner-shell is equipped with another acoustic transducer, for measuring the mud properties of well's borehole; CAST-V contains an inclinometer short section for image positioning.

When the instrument is working  underground, the ultrasonic transducer emits acoustic waves against the borehole-well wall, when the  sound waves are reflected by the wall , the transducer is used as the receiver to receive the reflected acoustic signals, the received signal is processed by the electronic circuit to ground  for completing the system imaging;  in borehole-well usually comleting the system imaging by acoustic amplitude and dual multi-trip time imaging.

CAST-V is  a tool of DITS interface , attached to the ground system of  EXCELL2000, the imaging graphics is used to display the wellbore cracks and defects of casing/tubes. In cased wells,it is used to measure situation of cement bond and show/display the channeling problem outside the casing/tubes.
